Invisalign is a series of clear, computer-generated trays (similar in appearance to whitening trays) that snap over your teeth and exert light pressure to move the teeth into a more ideal position. The trays are replaced every two weeks. Because the trays are clear and thin and virtually invisible, you can confidently smile and speak in public while wearing them.
Who is a Candidate?
Invisalign is useful for patients with crowding of the teeth, small spaces between the teeth, slightly rotated teeth, and excessive overlap of the teeth. These issues can make it more difficult for patients to brush and floss and keep food from lodging between teeth. Patients who exhibit these problems can be more prone to tooth decay, gum disease, tooth mobility, chipped teeth, tooth wear, and pain in the jaw joint, head, and neck. By repositioning the teeth and improving the bite, Invisalign can alleviate many of these problems and improve the quality of your life and impact your self esteem.
